He has his own cool factor, which includes constantly singing that whoa-whoa line from that ever-present Coldplay song, confidently wearing his sister's braided bracelet around his ankle, and a Phelpsian need to wear his goggles around his neck where ever we go. But is it so bad to want to provide a little swag to help the kid out?

If you wanted to put together a formula for media coverage in the
waning days of April, I think you'd be safe to go with "Rev. Wright +
Austrian Cellar Dad + Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City."
Why was the release of a new version of Grand Theft Auto such big news?
I guess video games are a much bigger part of our culture than I
realized. My son's father doesn't play 'em, and of couse I
don't (if I even know a girl gamer, she's closeted). But I don't want
to deprive my first-grader of the opportunity to be normal. If the
other boys are playing video games, he will, too. But more experienced
moms out there, please tell me: When do you let it start? How do you
keep it under control?
