Watching the Sarah Palin interview was almost identical to watching the Saturday Night Live skit mocking it. She showed us how much coaching she's been getting on the topics. When asked a question in a different way, she spouted the same practiced spin. When cornered for specifics, she said, "I'll try to find ya some and I'll bring ‘em to ya." I also wish she would use the ‘g' in ‘ing' endings. This folksy talk does nothing for me in a leader. I want someone more eloquent than I am in charge. People like her because she seems like us, a regular joe mom. But I gotta be honest. I'd be more than a bit worried if the fate of the American people rested on somebody like me. At least my passport's been used a few times. I've spent at least a week in 4 foreign countries. Does that make me qualified in foreign policy? While in Italy last month, I heard the opinions of some locals on our current election choices. Does that give me foreign policy experience? Sarah Palin thinks that having Russian planes fly over Alaska's airspace gives her experience, even with her empty passport. Hmmm. Her handlers might want to consider a shorter leash for her.
