Mom's Night Out: All Cocktails and No Crayons

Mom's Night Out: All Cocktails and No Crayons

I'm heading out for a girls night with a friend I haven't seen in almost 4 years!  We live in the same city, but keep in contact mostly through email.  We're going to one of the hippest new bars in town.  I'm so excited, I can't wait!  She's one of my pre-baby friends.  My hipster friends.  We'd hit all the cool clubs, drink all the cool drinks, wear all the cool clothes, and basically pretend we were cool people.  I've been out of that scene for quite some time now, but only recently realized that I can wear cool clothes again.  I had gotten so used to wearing spit-up wherever I went, I didn't buy anything worth being seen in.  Now the Bean's 4.  He's been able to feed himself, walk without help, and generally not spit up on me for awhile now.  Although, there is the occasional spilling.  And the random barfing if he tries to swallow a bite that's too big.  Tonight, he won't be with me, so the only one at risk of barfing is me.

Dressing for less

Dressing for less

According to the NY Times, prices for fashion items at the "lower end" of the spectrum (where I always shop, and the part of me which requires the most thought of how to cover up) are coming down. I did just buy four shirts at Target, and damn, I look good. (I haven't resorted to Walmart yet.) Got any other hints for me? Read more »
