Memorial Day
Most people see this holiday as a kick-off for the summmer season. Do you have any traditions? Do you throw a big picnic? Do you travel to a family event (made a little more difficult due to gas prices this year)? In the past, we've made an attempt to get to Fort Snelling and talk about the importance of remembering those who have sacrificed for us. Mostly, my husband uses it as an excuse to watch Tora Tora Tora or the entire Band of Brothers series. What will you do this weekend?
Band of Brothers is worth a watch. I've never been to war, and if this is any indication of what it's like, I'm sure glad I haven't, and I'm doubly grateful to the ones who have.
Currahee! I'll admit I've watched the series a few times, and I still tear-up at certain parts. I also want to hug all the old men.
