Wearing Green at the Eco Chic Portland Fashion Week
I like looking like I stepped out of a magazine, but some of these look like they crashed into the magazine rack! Some, however, are gorgeous and elegant. Green designers from around the globe trotted out their eco chic fashions at Portland Fashion Week. Bamboo is the eco-fabric du jour. It can feel like linen, or as soft as silk with a similar drape, and is more sustainable than cotton. It can be grown quickly and without pesticides. Fabrics made from bamboo have anti-fungal, antibacterial and deodorizing properties. Less laundering! Another nice thing about bamboo products, in general, is they tend to be fairly affordable. Or, you could take your old magazines and oragami them into a party dress.

And you sound like an oriental wind chime when you walk.
